PANELISTS

  1. MONIKA SHAH MDis a physician in Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) specializing in diagnosing and managing a broad range of infectious diseases. She is also the Vice-Chair for Education in the Department of Medicine, MSK and oversees undergraduate and graduate medical education (GME) programs. She is also the Chair of MSK’s GME Committee and the Designated Institutional Official for GME program and oversees more than 80 full-time GME residency and fellowship programs and additional rotator programs. She has a focused interest in HIV infection, international/travel health, and the care and management of immunocompromised patients. More recently she has focused on surveillance and management of Covid-19 especially in patients with cancers. She cares for patients in both the inpatient setting as a consultant and through a regular outpatient continuity clinical practice.
  2. SUNANDA GAUR MDis a Pediatric Infectious Disease specialist and Professor of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS). She has been the director of the Robert Wood Johnson AIDS Program since 1995 and the Director of the Pediatric Clinical Research Center since 2006. Since 2016, she has been serving as Director of the Adult Clinical Research Center at RWJMS. She currently Co-Leads the section on Clinical Research HUB capacity and Trial acceleration, at the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science supported by the NIH-National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences. Dr. Gaur is also the founding director of the South Asian Total Health Initiative (SATHI) established at RWJMS in 2008. SATHI is a research, outreach and education initiative dedicated to improving the health of South Asians living in the United States. She is actively involved in leading clinical trials related to antimicrobials and infectious diseases including COVID-19 at RWJMS. Her research interest has primarily focused on Pediatric HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, antimicrobials and health disparities affecting South Asian Americans. Most recently she has been closely involved in conducting the Jaansen COVID-19 vaccine trial at Rutgers RWJMS.
  3. MADHURY (DIDI) RAY MD, MPHhas worked at the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on disasters from measles to earthquakes to cat flu to hurricanes. Between disasters, she builds systems for public health emergency preparedness and response at operational, analytical, and organizational levels.  Prior to working in NYC’s Health Department, Dr. Ray completed her MD at the Drexel University College of Medicine and trained in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of California in Los Angeles. She additionally completed a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School in Global Health, with a concentration in Humanitarian Studies, Ethics, and Human Rights and was a Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine during the Orange Revolution.
  4. ARNAB GHOSH MD, PHDis a physician in Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) specializing in adult Bone Marrow Transplantation. He is also a part of the immune-oncology service and has a research interest focused on immunotherapies, where one uses the patient’s immune system to treat diseases. Dr. Ghosh will be moderating the discussion.
